Eyes are the important organ for the human being for the vision. Today, most of people work based on computer spending long hours of the day in front of an monitor. The lifestyle and the work pressure give us no opportunity to be kind to the eyes. Bad condition in the environment surrounding the computer likepoor illumination, improper position of the computer, hazardous radiation such as x-ray or ultraviolet ray from the monitor are bad for your eyes. Excessive strain on the eyes may lead to itchy, blurred eyes, double vision, burning eyes, or headache. All of these symptoms may lead to increasedirritation, frustation, or unable to complete work efficiently.
The number of people using spectacles are increasing every day. Not only adults but also small children are seen with thick spectacles. Taking care of the eyes will help decrease from the harsh effect. Here are some of the tips which may help you to get relief from strain and fatique eyes :
Blink Your Eyes
First, blink your eyes for several times at least 20 times after 20 minutes of continuous computer use. It is very much important to keep your eyes moisturized and re-wet them to prevent the dryness and irritation. After that, close your eyes and roll them in both of clock wise and anticlock wise direction for some time and in between of this process, take several deep breaths and breathe out slowly then open your eyes. Do this exercise 2 or 3 times for about 1 minute in between your work.
Look Away From Your Computer
Look at distant object at least 20 feet away from you in your work place or outside. This is because spending long hours on computer make your eyes only focus on near vision on one direction. Look at distant object and returning the near vision may help your eyes to get more focus. Do this at least 5 minutes every 20-30 minutes in your work.
Do the palming method. Rub your hands against each other till become warm and than place them on your eyes for about 1 minute. This exercise will help your eyes to get more relax from the brightness of the computer.
Take a Break
Take a walk in outside after sitting in particular position/posture if possible. This will help you to get fresh air and better blood circulation all over your body including your eyes.
Don’t Rub Your Eyes
Don’t rub your eyes at any cost because it will irritate and damage your eyes. If you have any problem in removing the dust or the irritation continues, it is better to consult a doctor.
Food that rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E like citrus fruits, carrot, tomatoes, spinach, salmon etc. Those foods are good to keep your eyes healthy.
Splash Water on Your Face
Splash your face with fresh water. It will make you feel refreshed and relaxed.
